It is Senior Portrait season all year long here at Angela Clifton Photography.  We love being Tampa Senior Photographers - the grads are fantastic and they always have amazing ideas.

We often get asked questions regarding how to get the most of a Senior portrait session so we decided to put some tips together.

Tip #1 - What to wear - you can click here to review our What do I wear... blog post.  Most importantly, wear clothes in which you feel comfortable.  Steer clear of clothes that wrinkle easily or anything sheer (undergarments show more easily in photos).  Heels are not a good idea at parks or beaches.

Tip #2 - Outfit changes are great!  We often have seniors requesting 2 or 3 looks for their senior photos.  Yes, it is a great idea; and you just need to keep a few things in mind.  Ensure there will be a place to change or pick a change that won't require much privacy.  Clothes that don't wrinkle easy are a great option, and sometimes it is better to have clothes you don't have to pull over your head or that have a large neck opening so you don't have to worry about your hair and make-up.  Having someone to help pull your look together is a great idea as well.

Tip #3 - We want to capture the real you.  Do you love playing guitar, are you on the football team, are you on the swim team?  We can incorporate props in your session - bring the guitar or football or we can get some shots of you in your swim team gear.  Do you prefer the photos to be more formal or more casual?

Tip #4 - We've done senior portrait sessions at a variety of locations.  If there is a location that is important to you, please let us know.  Or maybe you just know you'd like more of an city vibe.  Some seniors prefer the beauty of park and others feel far more comfortable at the beach.  Picking the right location sets the right tone for your session.

Tip #5 - Things to bring: Make sure you bring a brush/comb, a mirror, hairspray, touch up make-up - especially powder, a towel, bottled water, and a list of ideas (if you've not already sent them to us).  Having what you need handy is important to keep you looking and feeling your best.

Tip #6 - Trust your photographer.  The best thing you can do at your photo session is relax.  That's how we capture the real you.  You've done your homework and researched the photographer (looked at their work and reviews), you've shared your requests, and you've gotten your questions answered.  Now it is time to enjoy your session!
