The long days of summer are perfect for photo sessions. Whether it is engagement, maternity, family or senior photo sessions; longer days mean the sun is out longer and that means we can spend more time doing what we love - capturing Moments that Last a Lifetime.

In the last 10 years, we've done at least 1,500 photo sessions at Sand Key Beach, Clearwater Beach, St. Pete Beach and various gorgeous Tampa area parks during the summer. Through all of our experience we compiled a list of tips to ensure you get the most out of and enjoy your summer photo shoot:

  • Bring a change of clothing. Having more than 1 outfit is always a good idea because you never know how an outfit will photograph until the session, but it is even more important in the summer due to the heat. If you sweat through one, you'll have another.
  • Pick the right outfit. Click here to view our What to Wear Guide, and choose breathable fabrics that don't wrinkle easily, short sleeves, skirts, dresses. Remember, you're going to want to keep cool.
  • Bring a portable fan. Believe it or not, these handy devices can work wonders to cool you off.
  • Be prepared to possibly take a break. We use shade whenever we can to ensure we keep our clients are as cool as possible and the light is great! But some days, we encourage clients to take a quick break and cool off in the car. No worries, we work fast and we'll still capture plenty of photos.
  • Bring water. The more at ease and comfortable you are, the better the photos. Quenching your thirst when needed is crucial.
  • Bring a small mirror, brush, argan oil or smoothing gel, powder or blotting papers and a towel. We'll keep an eye on you to ensure you're looking your best, but we also encourage clients to take a quick peek in the mirror a few times during your session. Having a few products handy can help ease your shine, smooth stray hairs and help you feel your best.
  • Schedule early. If you're visiting our beautiful area, schedule your session towards the beginning of your trip so you won't have to worry about having sunburned portraits. Remember, sunscreen is your friend!

Most importantly, remember to have fun! It's the summertime! We strive to capture beautiful portraits you will treasure for years to come, but we also want you to enjoy your photo session - making memories while we capture, Moments that Last a Lifetime!
