Frame your Subject

We love offering photo tips to help our clients be the best photographers they can be. We recently did a photo tip blog post about Filling the Frame, and today we're covering a similar topic - Framing Your Subject.

Being Tampa Photographers, nature gives us plenty of options to frame our subjects. You can have leaves, flowers, sea oats, etc. or even people in the foreground; and these objects can even be out of focus. Using a frame can help create an interesting composition. Composition is how you arrange elements in your photo to draw attention to your subject. Your chosen composition can also help evoke emotions in the viewer.

Using out-of-focus objects in the foreground of a photo can create a sense of depth. Some photographers use architectural framing to create structure, and framing can also create context giving more information to the viewer regarding the subject.

You can also use nature to create a frame around your subject. Imagine you're placing your subject within frame when you compose your photo. Try different options by moving your subject and moving around while photographing your subject. We find this works well in engagement, wedding, maternity, newborn, family and senior portrait session.
